Concussions are among the most difficult to diagnose and potentially dangerous of all soccer injuries. Coaches and trainers are left with the difficult task of making return-to-play decisions. Should a player come out of the game after a head impact, or is he fine to keep playing? An incorrect decision may result in an unnecessary loss for the team, or to the other extreme, a player who ends up cognitively impaired for the rest of his life. We would like to increase your understanding of concussions which will hopefully better prepare you to make these important decisions.
